Evaluation report for the project ‘Cultivating women's capacities as way to help develop the Mapuche family’
The following are the results on the women who participated in this project funded by Fundacion Andes:
Independence Skills
67% of the women participating in the project undertake new projects.
70% of the women participating in the project have improved their work opportunities.
97% of the women participating in the project say it has given them confidence in their ability to succeed.
90% of the women participating in the project believe that their future will be improved.
60% of the women participating in the project solve problems that they could not solve before.
Interdependence Skills
70% of the women participating in the project are able to ask for help.
80% of the women participating in the project feel better prepared to access public services.
80% of the women participating in the project belong to an organization.
36,5% of the women participating in the project hold a position within a community organization.
57% of the women participating in the project have contact with other public as well as private institutions.
Entrepeneurial Skills
63% of the women participating in the project takes responsibility for the productive aspects of their work.
80% of the women participating in the project look for and want training.
67% of the women participating in the project declare to have productive goals.
Project’s Effects
Income from sales of Textile Handicraft are 28.4% of the total income that the family receives. This shows how important the elaboration of textiles’ is for the families, either when selling to the Foundation or in other places.
Family income from agricultural activities amounts to 20% of total income. This includes incomes from cattle and part of the annual harvest.
The project increased cattle heads in the families by 10%. In conclusion though, handicraft production is still the most crucial contribution to family income.
