What we offer:

  • A pleasant working environment, with colleagues who have ample experience of working both with foreign people and with the indigenous communities of the Region.
  • The appointment of the volunteer and the time spent with us will be well planned and organised by the Volunteer Program.
  • Lodgings for volunteers in Santiago, Temuco and Nueva Imperial, which have vast experience working with the Fundacion and which offer a pleasant family atmosphere
  • Free lunch during work days in the cafeteria of the Fundacion.
  • The Foundation will contribute up to US $ 800 to the cost of international travel for volunteer doctors who remain with us for more than three months.
  • After having volunteered with the Foundation for three to six months, the directors may analyse his/her contribution and decide to give him/her a greater level of financial assistance than that initially granted.

Professionals Needed

The Volunteer Programme is open to anyone who is interested in contributing to the objectives of the organisation, in any one of a wide and varied range of specific tasks where support is required.

That said, we are particularly interested in university students, both pre and post degree, to work in the areas of professional activity, listed below, on an on-going basis.

If an applicant would like to volunteer in an area or field not listed below, he or she may contact the Volunteer Program Co-ordinator directly. Each applicant will then be evaluated on an individual basis.

Project Management Experts:

Objectives: To work in health matters, either in training for rural groups (both in the Foundation and in the field) or in support of public and private health institutions.

Agronomists:

Objectives: To work in training country-people, to provide technical assistance, and to develop projects related to agriculture and the environment.

Veterinary:

Objectives: To provide knowledge of modern technology in the veterinary field to assist in the training of country-people.

Marketing and Communication Experts:

Objectives: To support the Fund-raising activities of Fundación Chol-Chol, to strengthen its corporate image and to promote the sale of handicrafts.

When planning to spend time as a Volunteer in Chile, the applicant should take the following costs into account:
